The firm’s real estate practice has represented its clients in the full spectrum of commercial real estate transactions including:
- Acquisition, development and sale of commercial, retail, industrial, residential and mixed use real estate projects
- Documenting and closing of the purchase and sale of real estate and secured and general commercial loans; and transactions involving land acquisition and land development of commercial, retail, industrial, residential and mixed use projects
- Sophisticated and substantial lease transactions on behalf of both landlords and tenants in connection with office, retail, industrial and ground leases
- Representation of borrowers and lenders in a broad range of real estate financing, including acquisition, construction, permanent, and mezzanine loans for office buildings, apartment projects, hotels, land development, shopping centers and other projects
- Representation of building owners in connection with telecommunications, cable and wiring, satellite dish and related services
- GSA and other government leases and contracts including preparation of proposals responding to GSA RFPs and filing claims under GSA leases pursuant to the Contract Disputes Act
- Section 1031 Tax-deferred exchanges
- LLC, Partnership, LLP, and other corporate organizational agreements, including complex joint venture agreements, and related matters in connection with the acquisition, sale, financing and development of real property
- Creation and conversion of condominiums
- Compliance with tenant rights regulations in the District of Columbia, including the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA)
Our practice is predominately transactional in nature with a concomitant involvement in bankruptcy and litigation matters ordinarily associated with a transactional practice.
